Jim Morrison is an incredibly charming and talented rock musician with a catchy voice. He died young, at twenty-seven years old, but even today his name is not forgotten, and many fans and connoisseurs have his songs. The Doors, whose lead singer was Morrison, is still a legend.
Childhood and university years
The birthplace of Jim Morrison is Melbourne, a town in the United States, in the state of Florida (not to be confused with Australian Melbourne). Rocker was born in this town in February 1943.
When Jim was a four-year-old child, he witnessed an event that greatly influenced his further biography and work. From the parent's car, Jim saw a truck roll over carrying Indian workers. As an adult, Jim recalled that he first realized what fear was. In addition, he assured that the souls of the two victims had taken over him on that highway.
In 1962, Jim entered a university in Florida. However, at the beginning of 1964 he moved to Los Angeles and entered another educational institution - UCLA, the cinema faculty. Over the years, Jim even shot two films, which, however, did not cause delight among fellow students.
Morrison and The Doors: The Way to Success
At UCLA, Jim became friends with Ray Manzarek. Together, they founded the rock band The Doors ("Doors"). And soon, her composition was supplemented by drummer Johnny Densmore and guitarist Rob Krieger.
The group began performing at local venues. As eyewitnesses recall, at first their performances were rather awkward. The work of musicians (Rob, John and Ray) could not be called professional. And Jim Morrison was very timid on stage. At first, he even sang, turning his back to the audience and the audience. In addition, Jim sometimes went on stage drunk … But despite this, after six months, The Doors had a chance to speak at the most fashionable club on Sunset Boulevard - "Whiskey-A-Go-Go".
At one point, producer Paul Rothschild turned his attention to the group. Previously, he was engaged only in jazz musicians, but he took the risk and offered The Doors cooperation. Their first single, “Break On Through, ” was in the top ten on the Billboard charts, and the next song, “Light My Fire, ” rose to first place. And at the beginning of 1967, the Doors debut LP was released and immediately became very famous.
In her music, The Doors emphasized an unusual mixture of organ and guitar sound. But The Doors became a real phenomenon of the sixties thanks in large part to Jim Morrison's charisma. Morrison attracted people (usually young) with substandard, rebellious behavior. Another success factor is Morrison’s deep texts full of amazing images. Nowadays, he is appreciated not only as an excellent musician, but also as a poet.
