Biography
The future actress was born in March 1960 on the 26th in the American city of New York. The girl was born in a family of artists, father Gel Gray was a dancer, and her mother was the then-famous singer Joe Wilder. Parents really wanted their daughter to continue the creative dynasty and make every effort to do this.
In school, Jennifer was sent to the theater club, where she took her first steps in art. It is worth noting that she did well enough, and she herself wanted to become a real actress and connect her life with the theater.
Career
After leaving school, the girl performed on the stage for some time, but everything changed when she was twenty years old. Jennifer auditioned for a cameo in the movie Reckless. The film debut was so impressed with Gray and her parents that she fell in love with the world of cinema and connected her life with him forever.
In the same year, the girl starred in the film "Hotel Hotton" and in the cult action movie "Red Dawn" for the United States and the cult cranberry for the USSR. In the latter, Gray played a major role. The picture was about the invasion of Soviet troops into the United States with the aim of seizing and plundering food depots. The American army was defeated and partisans, gathered mainly from adolescents, began to provide real resistance. One of the groups of such partisans included Tony Mason, whose role was played by Jennifer Gray.
The controversy surrounding the film eclipsed the acting work of Gray, and the next year she did not receive serious job offers. 1985 added only two television projects to the piggy bank of the actress's roles: American Lightning and Cindy Eller: A Real Tale. In 1986, the movie “Ferris Buler takes the day off” was released, in which Gray played one of the main roles. The picture was extremely successful, and the role of the boring sister of the protagonist, which went to Jennifer, brought her great popularity.
The wave of success after the previous film not only made the actress famous, but also increased her relevance. Already in the next 1987, she was invited to shoot the film "Dirty Dancing", where, according to the results of the interview, she managed to take the main female role. The film at that time turned out to be incredibly successful, at the box office the picture raised more than two hundred million dollars, despite the fact that it took only six to produce the film. In 1988, at the next Golden Globe Film Festival, the talented actress was declared as a contender for a prestigious award, but she failed to win an honorary award.
Quite quickly, deafening success was replaced by a sharp decline and even a real failure. In 1989, the comedy-detective film "The Bloodhounds from the Broadway" was released, where Gray got the supporting role. The main female role in the film was played by the famous singer Madonna. Rutger Hauer also starred in the film and directed by Howard Bruckner.
Despite such a stellar composition, the picture turned out to be extremely unconvincing. The film did not shine at the box office, and Madonna’s extremely bad game only exacerbated the negative effect.
In the aggregate, all these shortcomings were reflected in all those who took part in this project, including Gray. This alignment changed the attitude of the actress to work, and with the beginning of the nineties she left the big movie on television. In 1990, three serious projects were launched with her participation: “If the shoe does not shake”, “Criminal Justice” and “Murder in the Mississippi”.
In 1992, Jennifer Gray was offered to star in the film "Wind". Returning to the big screen cannot be called a triumph, even vice versa. Another film with Gray turned out to be a failure. With a huge budget of twenty-nine million dollars, at the box office "Wind" was able to collect only five and a half.
It is difficult to say whether participation in the film "Wind" was a sentence for the actress, but after him, Gray did not have a single serious role in the movie. In the nineties, she continued to work on television, taking part in mini-series and various television shows. In 1996, she played a cameo role in the thriller Portraits of a Killer. The following year was marked by a small episode in the film "Flesh".

In the early 2000s, Gray starred in the movie "Alien Ticket", where she played the role of Jannis Guerro. In 2006 there were two more inconspicuous works: "Whale" and the television project "Road to Christmas". The last serious work for Gray was his participation in the iconic television series Doctor House, where the actress played Abby's mother in one of the episodes.
