Sports career
Klokov began training with weights in the 1995th year. The mentor of the young athlete was Gennady Anikanov. The father initially objected to the decision of his son to engage in such a difficult sport. But then he changed his mind and tried his best to help Dmitry in training. And they sometimes lasted several hours a day - almost daily. Klokov had to follow a strict diet. He was regularly given a massage that protects athletes from injuries.
Three years have passed since the start of training. And now Dmitry has already won the junior championship of the Russian Federation. A little later, he took the “bronze” at the European Championships. In 2001, the young man joined the national team.
Klokov has always been categorically against the use of steroids and other stimulants. But at all times he tried to adhere to a balanced diet. Together with a detailed training program, this allowed the athlete to achieve solid results in an extremely short time.
Since 2004, Klokov has consistently won a number of victories in competitions at various levels. However, the injury received at the national championship did not allow Dmitry to distinguish himself at the Beijing Olympics. He managed to win only “silver”, losing to the Belarusian athlete A. Aramnov.
