Biography
Dmitry Sychev was born in 1983 in Omsk and raised in a sports family. His father was fond of football in his youth, and his mother was interested in athletics. It was dad who taught his son everything that he knew, and then placed him in a specialized sports school. After graduating from it, the young man, without hesitation, entered the Tambov Institute of Physical Culture, and subsequently continued to receive higher education at the State University of Physical Culture and Sports in Moscow.
From the age of 10 until receiving a diploma of higher education Dmitry Sychev always showed exemplary football, training in children's and youth teams. He even became the captain of the Omsk youth Dynamo and as part of it won the Urals Cup. Even then, Sychev became famous as an incredibly talented striker, who constantly set records for scoring goals. It was then that he began to be called up to the 1983 Russian national football team.
Dmitry Sychev began his professional career playing for the Tambov club Spartak. Many clubs drew attention to an active and promising player, but the athlete preferred Spartak Moscow to everyone. At this point, he became the youngest player in the history of the country, who was declared for the world championship. But relations with the leadership of “Spartak” were not the best way. Dmitry played for some time in the Marseille “Olympic”, and then moved to the metropolitan “Locomotive”. For more than 10 years, the player remained faithful to the club and repeatedly helped to put him in the top national rating.
In 2000, Sychev took part in the European Football Championship as part of the Russian national team, but failed to fully reveal himself in the game. He showed himself much better at the World Cup in 2002, when he scored several successful assists and dangerous shots on goal, and also scored his first goal in the world championship, becoming one of the youngest successful strikers in the history of football.
After personal success at the tournament, Sychev for a long time did not please the fans with significant goals. Only at the 2006 World Cup did he manage to score several goals at once in various matches, returning the status of one of the best Russian playmakers. After a series of unsuccessful matches for the further history of the national team, Sychev left her, as well as Lokomotiv, becoming a player in Minsk Dynamo. In 2017, he moved to the Kazan club Kazanka, where he continues to play, despite his already pretty solid age for football (34 years old).
