In the narrow-minded environment, there is an opinion that chess is an intellectual sport, and boxing is an activity for stupid but strong ones. This is actually a profound error. The biography of the outstanding boxer Dmitry Pirog is a clear confirmation of this.
Childhood and youth
The formation of character in a person occurs in childhood. It is very important for relatives, educators and trainers to note the natural abilities of the child. The future deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Dmitry Yuryevich Pirog was born on June 27, 1980 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents lived in the town of Temryuk in the Krasnodar Territory. My father worked as an engineer at a motor depot. Mother was engaged in raising children in kindergarten. Dmitry grew and developed in a healthy environment. He was accustomed to work from an early age.
Even in preschool, Dima learned to play chess. It is important to emphasize that he did not leave his passion for this game until today. At school, Pie studied well. As a third grader I decided to enroll in the boxing section. The mother was wary of the choice of her son, but the father supported and approved. Dmitry did not miss training. He took part in city and regional tournaments. At the same time, he regularly performed homework in all subjects. After graduating from school with a silver medal, Pie decided to get a specialized education at the Krasnodar Academy of Physical Education and Sports.
In a professional ring
In his student years, Pie continued to engage in boxing under the guidance of an experienced trainer. It is very important for an athlete in any sport to regularly participate in competitions. Dmitry did not miss the tournaments and on the eve of the 2004 Olympics, which took place in Athens, took second place in the Russian Olympic Hopes championship. However, the athlete was not taken to the Olympic team. To say that Dmitry was not offended would be untrue. After some deliberation, he decided to end his career in amateur sports. Just a few days later he was invited to take part in professional fights.
In July 2005, the first professional fight took place. Pie won in the sixth round. It should be noted that the boxer was preparing for the fight on his own, without coaching support. Independent creativity brought real results, it was very difficult to break through to the desired awards alone. When an athlete had a coach, preparation for each fight was carried out on a systematic basis. Dmitry carefully watched the videos and recorded weaknesses in the position of the future enemy. By 2010, Pie was among the ten best professionals of average weight.
