In 1962, a small Dima was born in the family of a Krasnoyarsk chemical engineer Alexander Hvorostovsky and a female doctor Lyudmila Hvorostovsky. Despite the prestige of parenting professions, the younger Dima was not interested in either engineering or medicine. He was fond of music. Hvorostovsky’s father sang well, and he also perfectly owned a keyboard instrument. They often held family concerts at home.

Singer's childhood
Already at 4 years old Dmitry sang. His repertoire consisted of old romances and folk songs. Also in the house was a collection of records with performances by opera singers. It was decided that studying at school would be combined with learning to play the piano. The child was not known as a good student, since the school curriculum did not cause him much interest and was poorly given. Subsequently, throughout his life, he preferred not to talk about his school past.
Adolescence
After the school was finished, Dmitry continued the formation of the music department of the Krasnoyarsk Pedagogical University named after A.M. Gorky. For a while, the future opera star was fond of rock. Having tried himself as a soloist and keyboardist of a rock band, Dmitry Hvorostovsky received his first professional experience in Krasnoyarsk entertainment establishments. There were times when studying at the school hung in the balance. But he changed his mind in time and successfully finished his studies, having received a diploma of a music teacher. Youth After school, Hvorostovsky continued his studies at the Krasnoyarsk Institute of Arts. Dmitry was a choirmaster, and a new teacher made him learn solo. By the third year, Hvorostovsky and his teacher got along. Dmitry stopped skipping classes. The institute was graduated in 1988.
