Biography
Daniel Colter Reyolds was born July 14, 1987 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is one of the nine children of Christina and Ronald Reynolds. The parents of the musician belong to the Mormons (a religious movement common in the USA). Traditionally, Mormon families are large, so it is not surprising that the Reynolds family raised so many children, the seventh of which was Dan Reynolds.
The family was musical and the children started teaching music early. Like his eight siblings, Dan began taking lessons from 6 years old. The boy was very talented, but did not think about the career of a musician. Dan dreamed of working at the FBI. To make his dream come true, the guy went to college, where he organized his group with friends Wayne Sarmon and Andrew Tolman. The guys played famous hits at parties and bars, and then began to write their own songs.
In 2008, the group won the university competition “Battle of the groups” and “Got Talent”, which prompted Dan Renolds to seriously think about a musical career. He came to the conclusion that he did not succeed in school and decided to drop out of college and study music. In his interview Dan Reynolds said that this decision was given to him very hard.
The band had a big break in 2010 when the frontman of the group Train fell ill and the team was unable to perform at the Bite of Las Vegas festival. Instead, "Imagine Dragons" performed and won the "Best Indie Group of 2010" nomination according to Las Vegas Weekly. Also, the musicians received the award in the nomination "Best Record of 2011" from Vegas Seven magazine. And in 2014, the team received the prestigious Grammy Award.
Dan is also a promoter of homosexual rights; he is the organizer of the Loveloud music festival and the creator of the documentary Believer, which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. One of the songs "Imagine Dragons", called "It's Time", was featured in an episode of the television show "Glee", when the hero of the Blaine series sang a song to his boyfriend Kurt.
The musicians of the band "Imagine Dragons" are engaged in charity work. In 2013, they created the Tyler Robinson Foundation to help children with cancer.
