"Green weekend" is an all-Russian action, which is regularly held by Greenpeace Russia activists and simply not indifferent people. Its motto is the words that are understandable for every Russian: "Help nature with business."

The geography of the action has long gone beyond St. Petersburg and Moscow and is constantly expanding. Not only regional centers, but also small villages participate in the "Green weekende". In the spring of 2012, about 60 ecological weekends across the country took place.
As a rule, the action runs from April 1 to May 20, and everyone can take part in it. To do this, you need to collect the garbage separately (glass, plastic, waste paper, batteries) and deliver it to the recycling point. In addition, each person can try their hand at organizing the cleaning of any forest park in the territory of their city or village. To become a participant in the weekend and, especially, its organizer, you must register on the official website of the action.
It is a mistake to think that garbage collection is too dull and uninteresting. In Moscow, for example, about a thousand people came to the final weekend for whom master classes, eco-fairs, a playground for games, as well as an informative lecture hall and gifts were organized. Of course, on the territory of other cities, the “Green weekend” is being held so far with a much smaller scale, but with the same enthusiasm.
Almost everyone knows that natural resources are not unlimited. But not everyone is ready to admit that even his little effort can be important. For example, one used battery poisons 1 sq.m. land, and from an open tap only during daily brushing, about 15-20 liters of water is wasted.
The goal of Green Weekend is to encourage every person to change their lifestyle in order to preserve nature. The Greenpeace Russia project recommends taking into account a number of simple recommendations. Among them - not only an invitation to participate in the "Green weekend" campaign, but also requests not to throw out batteries, turn off computers and electrical appliances at night, use energy-saving lamps, install meters, turn in waste paper, plant a tree and walk more often.
