It is believed that heavy music is the lot of youth. She was born as a protest, and therefore it is precisely teenagers who perceive her so well. But over time, most young people rethink their attitude to life and music, musical preferences change. Those to whom the spirit of disobedience is close to nature carry a craving for heavy music throughout their lives.
The main styles of heavy music are:
- metal
- rock
- punk
- grunge.
Almost all directions are represented by various styles and variations, for example, there are more than 20 styles of rock itself, sometimes there is glam rock and hard rock. In addition, each style has its own course and characteristic musical rhythms.
Metal
In the early 80s of the twentieth century, heavy music called metal appeared. This trend was born among young people living in California. Young people decided to combine two styles: punk rock and hardcore. The metal was distinguished by heavy sounds, with an abundance of guitar and drum parts. The soloist who performed the song did not sing at times, but simply shouted the text.
Progressive metal is considered the intellectual genre of heavy music. The thing is that songs last 20-30 minutes at an ever-changing pace. Such songs are distinguished by long guitar and keyboard losses and hard vocals. But such an ingenious sound was hard for people to perceive, therefore this style did not gain popularity, and from the point of view of financial investments it turned out to be completely untenable.
Rock
In the mid-sixties, garage rock won frenzied popularity, it was not named so by chance, because in most American cities, every family had a garage, which was a place for parties for children and adolescents. It was in such garages that young people created musical groups, invented music and rehearsed. Distinctive features of this direction are the incredible energy and, unfortunately, the low quality of the recording, as the musicians did not have much money to record at the studios.
