Each person at least once in his life heard of the Ten Commandments of God. But not everyone understands that this is not just the instructions of folklore, but quite clear legislation granted by God to man.
Sinai law refers to the corps of decrees received by the prophet Moses from God on Mount Sinai. The Old Testament scripture mentions these commandments in the two books of the Pentateuch - Exodus and Deuteronomy. The Ten Commandments are the law for mankind, they talk about what actions people are forbidden.
The Lord ordered the holy prophet Moses to ascend Mount Sinai. There, the leader of the Jewish people spent forty days in prayers to God. After that, the Lord gave Moses two tablets of stone on which the laws of man’s relationship to God and other people were written. The first tablet contained four commandments, which included instructions that a person should have no gods other than a single Lord, do not create an idol, do not utter God's name in vain, and remember that the Sabbath must be dedicated to God. These commandments form the attitude of man towards the Lord. On the second tablet, the remaining six commandments were written concerning communication with others. So, it is said that a person should honor his parents (in this case, people will live on earth for a long time). It also contains indications of the prohibition of murder, adultery, theft, lies and envy. It is clear from biblical history that commandments are not just a fiction of a person, but a decree of God.
This corpus of directions was recognized as binding on the Jewish people. In New Testament times, the Ten Commandments also remain relevant. Christ did not refute any of them. Therefore, it turns out that Sinai legislation is a general law of human behavior, granted by God for all the times of the world.
