The Christian religion is based on the idea of original sin, due to which true happiness in life has become impossible. Once Adam and Eve violated the commandment of the Lord and were expelled from paradise. Subsequent generations are forced to bear this cross. Jesus accepted the torment of crucifixion for the sins of mankind, and the Christian should be humble in his fate. God gives everyone such a cross that will be able to do. A true Christian should be pure in thoughts, free from sins and full of love for others. The strength of a person is the ability to forgive insults and not resist evil. Happiness for a Christian consists in strengthening faith, spiritual perfection and a humble attitude to life. By observing these conditions, he can become truly happy in other life. After the Last Judgment, the Lord will send all the wicked to burn in hell, and righteous people will go to heaven, where they will find bliss and peace of mind.

The dominant ideas of Islam are humility and a holy war for faith. The peculiarity of Islam can be called an inextricable link between religion and socio-political life. A Muslim should obediently not only to the will of Allah, but also to power, "for it is from God." Sharia describes the standards of conduct of his citizen in all life situations. The code of practice calls for the unification and fraternity of believers, as well as assistance to all those in need. For a Muslim, happiness lies in faithful beliefs, untarnished honor and rational satisfaction of the needs of the soul and body. If a believer has self-esteem, a bright mind and honors the laws of the Koran, he can be called happy. Unquestioning obedience to the will of Allah gives the Muslim a hope for justice and eternal bliss after death.

The basis of Buddhism is the principle of rebirth, the idea of retribution or punishment (karma) and the need to follow a righteous path. The right way of thinking and behavior gives a chance for a happier fate after rebirth. The meaning of the life of a Buddhist is to free oneself from desires and obedience to fate, because it is the result of unseemly acts in the past. By abandoning excess desires, a person can come to a true understanding of things and get rid of the inevitable suffering.

In Buddhism, much attention is paid to the current life. It is important to be able to indulge in the contemplation of the world and strive for an individual search for truth. The very understanding of happiness consists in attaining an enlightened state of mind and gaining peace of mind by the soul. This can be achieved by following the "middle path" - without going to extremes and focusing on the favorable. If a Buddhist strives for spiritual perfection, freeing his mind from thoughts and using self-control, then he is already on the way to his happiness.
