The English word "summit" entered the Russian language at the end of the 20th century. It is relatively young and not everyone knows what it means. So, a summit is a meeting, a meeting or a meeting of dignitaries taking place at the highest level.

With the spread of English throughout the world, new words began to enter the Russian language, bearing English roots. The summit, translated into Russian meaning "meeting", takes place in each state or between states at specific dates established by agreement. In modern history, a number of summits are displayed that are of great importance for a number of states. For example, the G8 summit, uniting the governments of Russia, Japan, Italy, Canada, Germany, the USA, France and Great Britain. This international forum of leaders of the listed states is coordinating approaches to important international problems. The summit, as is evident in the case of the G8, may not have any charter, therefore, people or states that are members of it cannot officially accept the status of a member of this “meeting”. As a rule, there is a tacit agreement among the participants in the summit, implying an annual or quarterly gathering in order of priority on the territory of each participant. In large summits, where several countries are involved at once, a chairman must be appointed, which is one of the participating states, elected by other states for a certain time (usually for 1 year). In addition to the participants themselves, outsiders directly involved with each of the participants can participate in the summit. If we take into account the aforementioned G8, then the representative of the European Union is an outsider. The value of any summit is usually huge for each of its participants, since it is precisely at such meetings that many problems of an international character are solved. Thanks to the holding of summits, the friendship of peoples is growing, both within states and between states themselves and their leaders. And this, in turn, is important for the normal and stable development of economic and political relations in the world.
