Arriving at a restaurant or cafe, having received first-class service and the pleasure of eating dinner, you often want to thank the waiter and leave him a small amount "for tea". Many people are tormented by the question: how much should be given and how to do it correctly.

Abroad, a tip is left to almost all of the attendants: maids, waiters, tankers, etc. If a person does not leave for tea, this is considered an insult. Russians are not so generous with tips and give them mostly to waiters.
Tipping in Russia
In Russia, tips are considered an indicator of the quality of service and at the same time generosity. And with a tip you can show not only your gratitude, but also discontent. If the restaurant visitors did not like the waiter's service, they can leave a handful of little things for tea.
The tip size in Russia is usually 8-10% of the amount in the check, but sometimes it reaches 15%. In restaurants of a higher level, tips are left at will, in some cafes it is easier to immediately include them in the amount of 10% of the order amount.
Tipping in other countries
In the USA, the more expensive the establishment, the more tips are expected from visitors. Tipping in 10% of the amount in the check is left in small eateries, in high-level restaurants it is customary to leave 20-25% of the order amount.
The largest gratuities in European countries are left in France. They are usually included in the invoice immediately in the amount of 15-16% of the order. In addition, the visitor must put € 0.5-1 on the round plate on which the bill was brought.
In the Netherlands, Switzerland and Austria, tips are considered an unnecessary waste, so 3-6% of the amount in the bill will be enough.
In Japan and Australia, tips are generally considered an insult. Top-level service is considered the responsibility of the staff. It does not matter what kind of institution it is: a cafe, a night club or a casino.
Most often abroad, the tip amount is 5-10% of the order amount. This will be enough if you fly to Germany, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Norway or Egypt.
