For many Russians, Kazakhstan remains one of the most mysterious countries of the near abroad. Little is said and written about Kazakhstan; no economic and political cataclysms occur in it. It is developing steadily, gaining its place in the global economy.
The most difficult period for Kazakhstan came in the first years after the collapse of the USSR. Against the backdrop of a catastrophic economic collapse, Russian-speaking specialists left the republic en masse, many enterprises were closed. Nevertheless, the country managed to overcome this difficult time, and today Kazakhstan takes first place in Central Asia in terms of economic development.
Industrial production in Kazakhstan
One of the main assets of the country is its natural wealth. Kazakhstan produces oil, gas, coal, uranium ore, ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Exports of natural resources and products of their processing bring Kazakhstan the bulk of income.
Kazakhstan has developed a chemical and petrochemical industry. One of the largest phosphorus production plants in the territory of the former USSR is operating, and the production of phosphate fertilizers is developed. Fertilizers from Kazakhstan conquer the markets of nearby countries, as well as the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania, Iran.
Oil refineries provide the country with their own petroleum products, part of the fuel produced is exported. At the country's chemical enterprises, the production of chemical fibers, car tires, plastics and other various products has been established.
The country is a major producer of gold, on its territory there are more than one and a half hundred gold deposits. Kazakhstan is one of the leaders in the production of copper, it is exported to a variety of countries, including Germany and Italy.
The production of building materials is growing every year, this is directly related to the construction boom in the country. It should be noted that a huge number of various building materials went to the construction of Astana - the former Tselinograd, the new capital of the country.
Currently, one of the most important tasks for Kazakhstan is the development of light industry, it is planned to gradually replace the widest range of household goods with products of its own production.
