Biography
Boris Romanovich Rotenberg was born in St. Petersburg in 1957. He has an older brother, Arkady, who is now also a famous Russian oligarch.
From childhood, Boris and Arkady Rotenberg grew up very athletic and attended the judo section of the Turbostroitel club. It was here that senior Arkady made friends with the future president of the country, Vladimir Putin. As for Boris, by his 17th birthday he was already in the rank of Master of Sports in Judo, and after a few years he achieved those results already in Sambo.
After leaving school and until 1978, Boris Rotenberg received a coaching education at the Institute of Physical Culture. Lesgaft and later got an instructor in a police school. In the turbulent 90s, Boris had to immigrate to Finland, where his wife Irina Haranen came from. A few years later he returned to his homeland, where he founded the Northern Sea Route Bank (NSR) with his elder brother already successful in business, and later became one of the largest in the country.
From 2003 to 2009, the Rotenberg brothers increased their capital and influence in various economic sectors of the country. They took charge of such enterprises as Rosspirtprom, Gaztaged, Mosstroymehanizatsiya-5 and others, whose main specialization is the supply of products to leading Russian corporations, including Gazprom.
In addition, Boris Rotenberg had a hand in opening martial arts training clubs in different parts of the country. Until 2015, he served as president of Dynamo Football Club, and once he became interested in auto racing, even passed the qualifications for participation in professional races. One of the achievements of the businessman was participation in several daily races, which showed amazing stamina.
