Leonid Barats is a famous actor who not only acts in films, but also performs on the theater stage. He gained popularity thanks to such projects as Radio Day and Election Day. But in his filmography there are other, no less successful projects.
Odessa Barats Leonid Grigoryevich was born in 1971. It happened in the summer month of July, in a family that was not connected with the world of cinema. My father worked in the publishing field as a journalist, and my mother worked as a teacher in a kindergarten. By the way, the parents of the popular actor wanted to name their son Alexei. In principle, they called it that in everyday life. Therefore, Leonid prefers to be called Alexei.
Although the parents were not connected with the cinema and the world of art, they wanted their son to connect his life with creativity. Therefore, Leonid studied at a music school, which he entered due to the efforts of his grandmother. She also often took the guy to the theater. Studying at a music school did not really like Leonid. However, much has changed since he became acquainted with such a direction as jazz. After that, he began to study with great desire.
In addition to playing the piano, he often performed on stage in school productions. In parallel, he developed acting talent while attending a theater group. He often visited his father’s work, got acquainted with the profession of a journalist. Perhaps that is why after graduating from school it was hard for him to figure out his own desires and goals. After all, Leonid could become an artist, jazz musician or journalist.
The choice was made by Leonid's best friend, Rostislav Khaitov. Acquaintance took place during training in acting. Together they went on stage. After graduating from school, two friends went to conquer the capital of Russia, where they entered the first attempt at GITIS.
Creative team
During their education, Leonid and Rostislav met Camille and Alexander. The artists became friends, after which the idea arose of creating their own creative team. In 1993, the famous and popular Quartet I was formed. In the same year, they guys staged their joint performance, which became the debut. The production of "These are only stamps" brought the first success to the beginner artist.
Seven years later, on stage, the guys presented their next play, Radio Day. Leonid Barats became not only an actor, but also a screenwriter. The production brought great success to the creative team. In addition to friends, Nonna Grishaeva and Maxim Vitorgan performed on the same stage. The performance instantly made all the artists participating in it famous.
A year later, the creative team again pleased their fans with another production, which was called "Election Day." With this performance, they traveled almost all the major cities of Russia. And everywhere they were waiting for success.
Way to the big movie
Leonid Barats with his friends decided not to stop there. The plans were also shooting in the cinema. So, in 2008, the popular production of Radio Day was filmed. A year later, the same thing happened with another performance. The movie project "Election Day" was released. Despite the fact that Leonid became a popular actor thanks to the cinema, he believes that theatrical life is more interesting.
