The processes taking place in the Russian economy cannot be called positive. Tariffs for energy resources increase annually, food prices rise, and real incomes of the population decrease. The economic bloc of the government skillfully finds justification for what is happening. At the same time, the famous Russian economist Andrei Nikolayevich Illarionov does not get tired of making critical comments about the decisions made.

Starting conditions
In Soviet times, economics was not among the popular disciplines for study. Young people were more interested in technology, physics and mathematics. Today, we can rightly say that Andrei Illarionov from an early age did not think in a standard way. The future adviser to the president of the Russian Federation on economic issues was born in September 1961 in an intelligent family. Parents lived in the city of Sestroretsk near Leningrad and worked in the field of public education.
Biography of Andrei Illarionov evolved according to classical patterns. The child willingly went to school and studied well, although he did not reach the excellent student. He participated in public life, went in for sports, and found a common language with classmates. He watched his peers live, and what goals they set for themselves in the future. When it came time to choose a profession, he did not imitate others and chose the economic department of Leningrad State University. He easily passed the entrance exams and five years later graduated.
Illarionov, a young specialist, was interested in research. To this end, in 1983, a certified economist entered graduate school at the Department of International Economics. The scientific career of a graduate student developed successfully. In 1987, Andrei Nikolaevich defended his thesis. The subject of research in which he was engaged was the essence of state monopoly capitalism. Three years later, his works will be referenced in the development of the country's development program.
