Family, early years
Alexander Yuryevich was born on January 3, 1958, his place of birth is Leningrad. His father was an engineer on the ship, his mother worked at the factory. The boy early began to show independence, doing household chores when his parents were at work.
Mother was proud of Sasha, he was not only a good housekeeper, but also studied well. As a child, he dreamed of exploring the depths of the sea, like Cousteau. Later Polovtsev was carried away by the theater, which his mother did not like. However, later she saw her son in one of the productions and ceased to impede his passion.
After school, Alexander tried to get into the theater university, but unsuccessfully. Then he began his studies at a technical school, where he studied marine instrumentation, but after the first year he left the school and again tried to enter the theater. Creative career
After the army, Polovtsev began to work at the Vremya Theater. At first he played fairy-tale characters, then they began to give him serious roles. Then the actor got on the “Lenfilm”, his film debut was the film “It” (1989). Then he starred in the film "Whiskers", "Drum".
In the film "Whiskers" Polovtsev first played a policeman. After that, in 1997 he was offered a role in the project “Streets of Broken Lights”, where his colleagues Rykov Alexander and Selin Sergey also starred.
