Adaptation and implementation of local government mechanisms is considered one of the priorities of the Russian government. Member of the Federation Council from the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Alexander Akimov has been dealing with this issue for several years.
Starting conditions
The institution of local self-government within a democratic state has very important responsibilities. Alexander Konstantinovich Akimov does not tire of talking about these responsibilities. He is deputy chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Regional Policy and Local Government. In order for self-government to really benefit the local population, it is necessary to stimulate people to engage in small business. Great hopes in this discourse are assigned to the development strategy of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
The future senator was born on November 10, 1954 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents lived in the village of Kyukiai in the Republic of Yakutia. My father was engaged in hunting and breeding deer. Mother worked at the farm. The boy grew up and developed according to the traditions laid down by the ancestors. He began to hunt early in the taiga. I tried to help at home with the housework. He studied well at school. When the time came to choose a profession, Akimov decided to get a specialized education at the Faculty of Economics of the famous Institute of National Economy in Irkutsk.
Professional activity
Having received a diploma, the young economist returned to his native land and engaged in economic activities. Akimov was appointed manager of the Suntarsky state farm. It was in this collective that the future senator received the first experience of communication with the working people. After some time, he was appointed to the post of chief economist. Three years later, Alexander Konstantinovich took over as director of a neighboring state farm, which for many years was considered lagging. And again, a rational and consistent approach to the management of production processes brought the desired result.
In subsequent years, the career of an effective manager evolved along an increasing trajectory. When communicating with people and working with instructions, you need to be creative. This became the rule for Akimov. In the position of Minister of Labor and Social Protection, he traveled all, even the most remote uluses. And after each trip, very specific measures were taken to correct the situation or to provide the necessary assistance. In the fall of 2013, the government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) sent Akimov as her representative to the Federation Council.
