Before career
Tatyana Akimova was born on October 26, 1990 in the city of Cheboksary, which is located in the Republic of Chuvashia. The childhood of the future biathlete practically did not stand out. Tatyana, like all children, was educated at a school where she studied well. Akimova became interested in sports at an early age and considered skiing the best sport for herself.
Sport completely absorbed the girl in itself. Tatyana devoted almost all her free time to sports. She often watched sports competitions, shared the feelings of athletes and dreamed of finding herself in their place. In addition to skiing, Tatyana Sergeyevna began to engage in shooting, she easily switched from one sport to another, that is, to biathlon.
Hard work showed results, and the athlete decides to connect her future life with biathlon.
Biathlon career
Akimov Tatyana is trained by a personal trainer Anatoly Akimov, who will become her father-in-law in the future. Anatoly is still her only and indispensable coach. The long and hard work that has been done on the girl has borne fruit. Already in 2011, Tatyana performed at the World Junior Championships, as well as at the European Championships.
The athlete earned a silver medal at the Russian Summer Biathlon Championship. The medal was a pass to the World Cup, but Tatyana did not have enough experience for the world stage. The girl could not take their rightful places.
In 2013, the biathlete won the individual races at the Winter Universiade, which took place in the Italian region of Trentino.
By the end of 2014, Tatyana took 3rd place on the Izhevsk rifle, and the very next year she made her debut at the World Cup, which was held in the small Swedish city of Ostersund. However, at the tournament, the girl performed unsuccessfully, finished last.
An important victory in the Czech Republic, which no one expected, came to the biathlete in 2016. After this victory Tatyana got a motivation to continue working on herself. Having overtaken Dorothea Virer, Tatyana Akimova was in the top ten biathletes.
