Behind the shoulders of the creative life of Leah Akhedzhakova at present there are about five dozen theater projects and more than seventy film works. And to a wider audience, she is better known for her roles in the legendary domestic film projects “Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!”, “Office Romance”, “Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears”, “Old Nags”.
Biography and career of Leah Medzhidovna Akhedzhakova
On July 9, 1938, in Dnepropetrovsk (Ukraine), the future theater and cinema star was born in a theatrical family (mother is an actress, and father is a director in the Adygea Drama Theater). From childhood, the situation in the family was conducive to a creative career, but the stepfather was categorically against theatrical fate for his child. And therefore, after receiving a certificate of secondary education, she, under the pressure of her family, entered the Moscow Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals and Gold.
But, having studied at this university for a year and a half, Leah realized that such a profession was not for her and passed the exams at GITIS, which she graduated in 1962. Due to her anthropometry (height 153 cm and weight - not more than 52 kg), Akhejakova began her theatrical career in the Youth Theater with the role of travesty. Here she went on the stage for more than ten years, playing in a dozen performances. And from 1977 to this day, the Sovremennik Theater has become its creative home.
On the stage of "Contemporary" Lia Medzhidovna and today goes out to act. In her theatrical portfolio, I would especially like to note both the classical repertoire (The Little Devil and the Windsor Mockers) and modern entreprise projects (Persian Lilac and My Grandson Veniamin).
Lia Akhedzhakova’s cinematic debut took place precisely in the role of travesty, when she played the role of boys in the film adaptation of children's fairy tales. Then came more serious film works in the films “Twenty Days Without War, ” “Near the Black Sea” and “Secret to the Whole World”
.But the real fame came to the actress after the release in 1977 of the sensational painting "Office Romance". Since that time, they began to recognize Leah on the street and ask for an autograph. She very harmoniously won the fame of the best supporting actress in the country, which was entrenched to her throughout her professional career. It was a bright and charismatic game that did not allow directors to give her important roles, because then the work of the entire cast would be at risk.
At present, I would like to single out the following film projects from the entire filmography of the People’s Artist of the Russian Federation: “Ivan da Marya” (1974), “The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath” (1975), “Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears” (1979), “Garage” (1979), “Say a word about a poor hussar” (1980), “Sofya Petrovna” (1989), “Promised Heaven” (1991), “Moscow Vacations” (1995), “Old Nags” (2000), “Love-Carrot” 3 "(2010), " Meek "(2017), " Summer "(2018).
In addition to the tremendous achievements in the field of domestic culture and art, Liya Medzhidovna Akhedzhakova is well known to the general public for her implacable political position, critically directed against the President of the Russian Federation, in relation to Ukraine. And her very emotional nature of expressing her thoughts always leaves indifferent neither her like-minded people, nor ideological opponents.
