Starting conditions
Marina Olegovna Zueva was born on April 9, 1956 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents lived in Moscow. The girl grew and developed in normal conditions. A child from an early age was prepared for adulthood. She helped her mother around the house. I could do the cleaning myself, wash the dishes, wash the laundry. A few years later, the Zuev family moved to Leningrad. It was in this city that the future coach began attending a youth sports school. As part of the then existing system, Marina was put on skates at the age of four.
Marina received her first figure skating experience under the guidance of a full-time teacher in a sports school. From the very beginning, she tried to take an example from her older comrades. In the early seventies, a promising figure skater was transferred to the capital and assigned to the famous coach Elena Tchaikovsky. Under her leadership, Marina Zueva and Andrei Vitman, a couple in sports dancing on ice, achieved very good results.
Professional activity
Soviet athletes in all sports fiercely competed with each other. The same situation was observed in figure skating. The dancing couple Zueva-Witman took third place in the 1976 national championship. Athletes repeated this success a year later. However, they failed to get high results at the European and World Championships. In the late 70s, Zueva decided to end her sports career. She went on to work as a choreographer at CSKA and began her studies at the scriptwriting department at GITIS.
In the new status of a coach and choreographer, Zueva reached decent heights. Director's education helped her in her professional activities. She worked for many years with a pair of Gordeev-Grinkov. Skaters twice became champions of the Olympics - in 1988 and 1994. The circumstances in the life of Marina Olegovna developed in such a way that she was forced to leave for Canada. A qualified specialist was welcomed. Provided everyone with what is needed to work with young athletes.
