Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov was officially married twice. With his second wife Galina, he found personal happiness and stopped looking for hobbies on the side. Marshal took the death of his wife hard and survived it for only six months.
Relations with Maria Volokhova
Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov - the legendary commander, Marshal of the Soviet Union, four times Hero of the Soviet Union, holder of two orders of Victory, holder of many other Soviet and foreign orders and medals. After the war, he began to be called the "Marshal of Victory."
Zhukov’s personal life has always been very stormy. He met the mother of his first daughter, Maria Nikolaevna Volokhova, in 1919. She worked as a nurse in a hospital during the Civil War. Georgy Konstantinovich was in the hospital after being wounded. There they met. After some time, the lovers had to leave, and after the war they reunited. In 1929, Maria Volokhova gave birth to Zhukov's daughter Margarita. But soon she became aware of the existence of another woman. For some time, Georgy Konstantinovich lived in two families, but then Maria got tired of it and she left with her daughter, marrying another man. Margarita did not even know who her real father was. Mother told her about this only after her daughter graduated from high school and the adoptive father disappeared in an unknown direction. Margarita was recognized by Zhukov and they communicated very well. This was evidenced by many close people. But officially Margarita began to bear the famous surname only after the death of the Marshal. Daughters from their first marriage, Era and Ella did not want to believe that they had a sister, and even tried to write letters to various authorities, accused Margarita of defamation.
Alexandra Zuykova
Alexandra Dievna Zuykova became the first official wife of Georgy Konstantinovich. They met in 1920 in the Voronezh province. Alexandra worked as a teacher. In 1922, Zhukov married her, despite the fact that he was in a relationship with Maria Volokhova. Later marriage registration documents were lost.
Due to the nomadic life, Alexandra lost her first child and the doctors did not advise her to give birth anymore. But in 1928 she gave birth to a daughter, Eru, and in 1937, Ella. After the birth of daughters, Zhukov's wife left work and devoted herself to children and family.
Alexandra Dievna knew about the existence of a rival, but preferred to remain silent. But family happiness was prevented not only by Maria Volokhova. Zhukov began relations with Lydia Zakharova, military paramedic. They went through almost the entire war together, and after its end, Zakharova moved to live with the marshal. She left his apartment in her own only when an official wife came from Moscow. Relations with Lydia ended after meeting Zhukov with his second wife Galina.
