A certificate of conformity is a document issued taking into account the rules established by the certification system of the state standard of Russia to confirm full compliance with the requirements of products undergoing certification. It can be either mandatory or voluntary. The subject of mandatory certification can only be products that are put into circulation on the territory of the Russian Federation. There are many types of various certificates: quantity and quality, compliance, radiological control, hygiene certificates. They are needed in order to improve the quality of products of domestic enterprises, to "raise" it to the level of requirements imposed by importing countries. This increases the competitiveness and safety of goods in foreign markets, which is of great importance for the development of exports. This activity is carried out by the State Standard of the Russian Federation, territorial centers for standardization, certification and metrology, their testing laboratories, as well as management bodies that provide services within their competence (for example, for certain types of products - the State Bread Inspectorate, the State Plant Quarantine Inspectorate). For the purpose of certification, a foreign or domestic applicant sends his application for passing control of a product or service to the state arstvennye bodies accredited in the system in a homogeneous group of products. According to the application filed in the established form, a decision is made within one month, then the experts conduct a test. After the tests of certified products, a protocol is issued that contains the results of the research, as well as information directly related to them (for example, recommendations). This document is the basis for the issuance of a certificate of conformity. The certificate is drawn up on the letterhead of the established form, registered in the State Register and takes effect from the date of registration. It is valid only with a registration number.
