This law says that the title of "Hero of Russia" is assigned only once. Assigned by the President of the Russian Federation. This award is presented, both in life and posthumously. Moreover, it is given not only to military people, but also to ordinary citizens who have accomplished a feat in the name of people and the country.
The title "Hero of Russia" is a separate type of state award. This is the highest remuneration, which in the list of state awards of the Russian Federation occupies the highest place. Further, these are soldiers and officers participating in the Second Chechen War, who prevented the invasion of gangs in this republic.
175 people were awarded the Hero of Russia medals for participating in the hostilities in the First Chechen War. 108 people received this award, oddly enough, for participating in the Great Patriotic War. 87 people received the title of “Hero of Russia” for testing aviation equipment. Many of them, unfortunately, died.

She was handed over to sailors, submariners, and testers of marine equipment. In addition, the star of the “Hero of Russia” received participants in the October events in Moscow in 1993.
Among the awarded there are participants in hostilities in South Ossetia, rescuers, participants in hostilities in Tajikistan, senior officials of various departments and ministries, intelligence officers, athletes and travelers, participants in the Afghan war, liquidators of the Chernobyl accident and many others.

Thanks to these exploits, not only the Russian Federation, but also other countries could live on in peace and harmony. Of course, more than 30% of those awarded received this title posthumously, but in most cases, the award found heroes in life.
