Early years, youth
Leonid Isaakovich was born in the village of Grodekovo, Primorsky Territory on January 22, 1954. He is Jewish by nationality. Leonid's father was an officer, his mother worked as a laboratory assistant.
Later, the family lived in Lviv, where Yarmolnik Sr. was transferred. Lenya at that time was a primary school student. The boy studied well, also mastered the accordion, visited the pool, and then became interested in theater. He began to attend the studio at the city theater. In that period, Yarmolnik received the nickname Lennon because of his hair and round glasses.
After school, Lenya tried to get into LGITMiK, but unsuccessfully. The following year, he began his studies at the school. Schukin. During his student years, Yarmolnik made friends with Abdulov Alexander.
Creative career
Upon graduation in 1976, Leonid was sent to the Taganka Theater, where Vladimir Vysotsky played in the troupe. Leonid showed himself well, immediately received one of the main roles. In 1974, Yarmolnik first starred in the movie, playing in the movie "Your Rights?".
In 1979, the actor performed in a humorous television program, presenting the miniature "Tobacco Chicken". Leonid became famous in the Union. In that period, thanks to the recommendations of Abdulov, Yarmolnik got into the cast of the film “The Same Munchausen”.
In 1984, another director came to the theater - Efros Anatoly. Some actors left the troupe, including Leonid. He began to conduct concerts, holiday events.
In the late 80s, Yarmolnik went on tour with Andrei Makarevich, his friend. Then Leonid resumed his activities in the theater, settling in the "Contemporary". Often he got the role of negative heroes.
Yarmolnik also starred in 2 issues of the journal "Jumble", participated in the dubbing of cartoons. In 1995, Leonid played in the movie "Moscow Vacations", where he also made his debut as a producer. The picture became successful.
In 2012, the actor starred in the film "It's Hard to Be God" and was awarded the "Nika" Prize. Yarmolnik considers this role to be the most difficult. The actor also received "Nika" for his work in the film "Barak".
Until 2012, the artist was constantly invited to the KVN jury, but then he had disagreements with Maslyakov, and Yarmolnik left the program. Until 2016, Leonid was a member of the jury of the show "Just the same."
