Vladimir Asmolov is perhaps the most “closed” singer in the chanson genre. His name is not promoted, he himself is not "PR", however, his work is widely known to Russian listeners.

Vladimir Pavlovich himself calls his style of performance "urban romance" and nothing else. The division into genres does not accept in principle. There are simply songs that touch the soul through text, music and the voice of the artist - such songs will live.
Childhood, education
Volodya Savelyev’s hometown is Donetsk, where he was born in an acting family on November 15, 1946. Dad was a provincial actor who ran the local House of Culture, and my mother served in a drama theater and did acting with studio children. The family grew two more daughters. At the age of 8 he entered the scene, playing a role in "The Snow Queen".
He did not differ with special zeal for study, after graduating from an eight-year school he tried to enter a theater school, but unsuccessfully. Before the army, he managed to graduate from the Forest College, where he was pleased to lead an amateur circle.
Poems began to write early. In the 4th grade I fell in love with a girl and dedicated her first lines to her. And then he even handed over compositions in verses at literature lessons. Explains this fact by the fact that punctuation marks are allowed to be put in their own way, the author’s text allows, but he was not friends with the rules of grammar.
Composing in poems helped him after serving in the army, where he begins to write songs and enter Donetsk Pedagogical University at the Faculty of Philology.
After graduating from the university I did not engage in pedagogical activities for a long time, I immediately realized that this was not his vocation.
Creation
Two years later, having left for Moscow, Vladimir got a job as a teacher in the Moslift women's dormitory, where he recorded his first album in a small room, created a small musical group of three people.
Then for ten years they perform in restaurants and on orders throughout the capital. He says that during this time he quailed almost the entire repertoire of the Soviet Union, performances lasted, at times, for 6-8 hours.
There, for the first time, his song sounded from the big stage: Alla Ioshpe and Stakhan Rakhimov, working in the Mosconcert, sang his First Snow. By the way, Alla advised him to take the mother's maiden name - Asmolov, as a stage name. And the Odessa-emigrant style of songs suggests the image - a sort of guy in a sea cap.
Later, his songs sounded in the repertoire of Medyanik, Kirkorov, Leps, Amiramov.
In October of '88, his third album of songs, Tin Soul, was released. He made Asmolov famous. In May, his first solo concert was held in Kiev, and by the end of the year he gave six concerts in a row at the pop theater. Vladimir Asmolov traveled all over the country as part of national teams.
In the early 90's, the singer went on tour in the United States, with concerts traveled all over America from the West to the East Coast. Upon returning to New York, under the impression of visiting the country, in the Russian studio in Manhattan, he recorded his "American album" in one night, which was so loved by fans of his talent.
Unfortunately, there was no art director who could really “untwist” the artist, and his fame is gradually declining. He still releases from one to four albums a year, but his listeners are people from the "dashing" nineties.
Vladimir Pavlovich is very strict about his work. He writes music and poetry himself, but he considers the text to be the main thing in the song. As he himself says, for many years I had to learn how to express the theme and attitude to it in 4 quatrains.
The author - performer, who influenced the choice of his role, calls Vladimir Vysotsky. "He left at 42, I was born at 42." This refers to his creative birth as an artist.
