More than 10 years have passed since his death. However, the theatergoers of Lipetsk honor the memory of a talented director. Having achieved fame at a very young age, he was able to find himself in the small homeland of his father.
People who have dedicated their lives to serving the muses will tell you that creativity is always connected with the search. Our hero managed to make a brilliant career before he realized that his talent was destined to blossom in his father's native land. The most fruitful period of his theatrical activity took place there, in the same place misfortune befell his loved ones.
Childhood
The father of our hero Mikhail Pakhomov was a native of one of the villages near Lipetsk. During the years of the first five-year plans, he joined the Komsomol and became the leader of local youth. A good organizer was sent to work in Sverdlovsk, where he met the beautiful Siberian Ekaterina. The girl taught at school. Soon they played a wedding, and the first-born waited in the most turbulent time. Volodya was born in July of the disturbing 1942.

Parents tried to make the boy’s childhood happy. Workers who gave all their strength for the victory over fascism could please their child only with intangible values. When Vova was 4 years old, his father became seriously ill. The family moved to Odessa, where they started the tradition of visiting the Opera House on weekends. The kid was so impressed with what he saw that he wanted to become a conductor. He went through preparation for the future profession, staging performances at home and in amateur ensembles.
Youth
Talented guy noticed. High school student Pakhomov was credited with an actor in the Odessa Russian Drama Theater. After the prom, the boy, without hesitation, went to Moscow and entered GITIS. There he studied on the course with Andrei Goncharov, a famous director and publicist. A number of classical productions that this master worked on were captured on film. The mentor instilled in Vladimir an interest in directing. Having received education, the boy knew exactly who he wanted to be.
Returning to Odessa in 1965 was a triumph for the young man. The graduate headed the local Youth Theater and became the youngest director of the country of the Soviets. Vladimir carefully selected the repertoire for his theater. The debutant was guided by his own tastes, represented on the stage stories created practically by his contemporaries. After 5 years, our hero changed his job. Now he headed the Odessa Theater. October revolution.

Conflicts and Love
Over the centuries, acting has been associated with wanderings. In the USSR, artists no longer had to wander around fair booths, but their desire to change places was in their blood. In search of inspiration, Vladimir Pakhomov was ready to wander from theater to theater. When he was offered to head the theater in Petrozavodsk, he happily agreed. Arriving in 1975, the director met a local connoisseur of the beautiful - the head of the Karelian Regional Committee of the CPSU, Ivan Senky. A guest from Odessa tried to show off with humor, which caused an official outburst of anger.

Acquaintance with colleagues on the stage took place in a more friendly atmosphere. Among the actresses Vladimir was noted Valentina Brazhnik. Her friends intimidated her with the fact that, reciprocating with a person who conflicts with the authorities, she will ruin her biography. The girl did not believe the gossips. She became the wife of Pakhomov. The newlyweds decided to leave Karelia, ending the protracted scandal. In 1976, Valya gave her husband a son, who was named in honor of his grandfather Mikhail. Continuing to quarrel with Senkin was no longer solid for the young father.
In the small fatherland
Vladimir Pakhomov increasingly recalled the stories of his parent about the places where he spent his youth. In 1977, the director and his wife arrived in Lipetsk. There he began working at the local state academic drama theater named after L. Tolstoy. Here our hero staged his best plays. He gladly took up the classics, regardless of whether it is domestic or foreign, intended for an adult or a small spectator. Many performances were awarded and presented at all-Union and foreign festivals.

The former brawler and bully settled down. Having learned happiness in his personal life, he stopped looking for reasons for quarrels with higher ranks. Pakhomov was repeatedly elected a deputy of the city and regional councils, the townspeople respected him as an authoritative fellow countryman and guardian of traditions in art. In 1988, on the initiative of our hero, the Lipetsk Theater Meetings festival was organized, which the next year received international status.
