Vladimir Vladimirovich Korchagin is a famous Russian-Soviet scientist geologist. Having traveled the whole vast country - the USSR, far and wide, being a geologist, then he took up his pen and became an equally famous science fiction writer, whose books are read to this day.

Biography
Vladimir Korchagin was born in 1924 on October 14 in the city of Kazan. Like other children of that time, he studied at an ordinary Soviet school. I didn’t have time to finish it because I started working very early, and then the Great Patriotic War began. He continued his studies after the war. In 1951, having graduated from the geological faculty of the university of his city, he continues to receive education and becomes a candidate of geological and mineralogical sciences.
After graduate school he works as a teacher at the university, is constantly engaged in science. Having received the title of Associate Professor, gives Kazan University 36 years of his life. He works in various positions.

Writer's work
Vladimir Vladimirovich did not start writing immediately. The idea to start writing matured only in the 60s of the last century. Associating fate with geology and work at the Faculty of Geology, he collected material. And therefore it is not surprising that the heroes of his books were those people who always walked alongside him in life. These people were students whom he taught, scouts of the earth's interior, geologists and colleagues. The aspiring writer put all his impressions and emotions into the creation of his first book, entitled "The Secret of the River of Evil Spirits." This book in those years became a real bestseller. She told the story of three young men who went on a geological expedition to the taiga. The author, based on his impressions, recreates the beauty of nature. Tells what secrets she hides in her bowels. The book has been reprinted many times. After this adventure-cognitive book, which was published in 1962, the following equally interesting and readable works by the author are published ("The Way to the Pass" (1968), "Asti Edelweiss" (1982), "The End of the Legend" (1984), " In the Name of Humanity "(1989), " Prisoners of Fear "(1991), " Woman in Black "(2002), " Two Lives "(2004), " The Secret of the Taiga Camp "(2007).
In 2000, one of the author’s books was awarded the Derzhavinsky Prize - it was the novel “The Foundling”. Korchagin's works were highly appreciated not only by readers, but also by his fellow writers. Vladimir Vladimirovich was not only a science fiction writer. He wrote books of another genre. As a teacher and scientist, he was the author of manuals on geology, wrote monographs.
Member of the Writers Union and public figure
In 1984, Vladimir Korchagin joined the Union of Writers of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Immediately began to head the Russian department of the union. Korchagin not only writes his works, but also engages in social activities: he helps young writers, he is often invited to meetings at schools, institutes, libraries, and cultural centers. He not only wrote beautifully, but was also a wonderful reader and narrator.
