A gifted girl was born on January 29, 1979 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents lived in Tskhinval, the capital of South Ossetia. My father was professionally involved in weightlifting. At one time he performed at All-Union and international tournaments and received the title of Honored Master of Sports of the USSR. After completing his sports career, he trained young weightlifters and carried out educational work among the local population. Mother kept housekeeping and raised children. Three children grew up in the house, a son and two daughters.
Veronica grew up an obedient and diligent girl. She studied well at school. Already in the lower grades with great desire she participated in amateur art shows. Sang songs and danced. Relatives and friends on occasion always praised the young performer. Almost everyone expressed her wishes to become an actress in the future. However, the head of the family was in no hurry with his blessing. He wanted Veronica to become a doctor. But when the question of choosing a profession arose seriously, the father did not object to the choice of his daughter.
After school, to get a specialized education, Dzhioeva entered the vocal department of the art school in Vladikavkaz. Experienced teachers worked at the school. At first, Veronica herself could not choose a specialization for herself. However, after a short period of time it became clear that her voice range meets the requirements for opera performers. And from that moment, targeted preparation began. In 2000, Dzhioeva completed her studies at the school. And she left to improve performing skills in St. Petersburg. Here she was already expected at the conservatory.

On the professional stage
The St. Petersburg Conservatory is known worldwide for the high quality of instruction. Talented performers, as students, are involved in productions of local theaters. Dzhioeva first appeared on the professional stage in 2004, performing Mimi’s aria in the famous opera Bohemia. A year later, she received a diploma and, according to current rules, the singer was invited to the troupe of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater. Veronica was genuinely surprised when she arrived at her new residence. Cultural life in the city was seething. The theater staged performances of both the classical repertoire and the works of contemporary authors.
After the official presentation, Dzhioeva was approved for the role of the Countess in the opera "The Wedding of Figaro". Of course, Veronica was worried. But everything went smoothly, the audience greeted the "brand new" very warmly. Then work began in repertoire productions. The singer perfectly played the role of Martha in the Tsar’s Bride and Gorislava in Ruslan and Lyudmila. After some time, Dzhioeva began to be invited to certain roles in the theaters of other cities. Today, while remaining the leading soloist of the Novosibirsk Theater, she is a guest performer at the Moscow Bolshoi and Petersburg Mariinsky Theaters.
Awards and Achievements
Veronika Dzhioeva's work on the opera stage has been repeatedly noted with awards and prizes. In 2008, she was awarded the diploma of the Golden Mask Theater Festival. Two years later, the singer received the Czech National Prize "EURO Pragensis Ars" for her great contribution to the popularization of opera. In the spring of 2011, Dzhioeva was invited to perform in Munich, where she performed Tatyana’s aria from the opera Eugene Onegin, accompanied by the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra was conducted by Maris Jansons, cooperation with which lasted for several years.
At home, they also carefully monitor the work of her beloved singer. In 2014, Dzhioeva became the People's Artist of Ossetia. In 2017, the Veronika Dzhioeva personal festival was held at the Novosibirsk Theater. Guests from Germany, Italy and Finland came to participate in this event. A year later, she was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Artist of the Russian Federation."
