Childhood and youth
Varun was born in April 1987 with a married couple, David and Karuna Dhavan, graduated from high school, and then entered the College of Trade and Economics named after Hassarama Rijumal in Mumbai. After graduating with honors, he went to Nottingham Trent University, UK, where he received a degree in business management.
In respectable Indian families it is customary to give their offspring a good education, no matter what future the child chooses for himself. Since childhood, Varun was immersed in the world of cinema and did not intend to become an economist or businessman, but he made his first steps in cinema as an assistant to the director, and not an actor.
Career
Like many other Bollywood actors, Varuna's creative biography began in her own family, which has a direct relationship to the movie. His father is a famous director in India, Uncle Anil is a famous actor, and his older brother Rohit has followed in his father's footsteps and also makes films.
In 2012, director Johar, whose future actor worked as an assistant, offered him the main role in his new youth comedy "Student of the Year." Varun Dhavan brilliantly coped with the task, having received three different prestigious awards in the category "Debut of the Year", and the film became one of the most successful films of that year.
A couple of years later, Varuna's father invited him to play a major role in his romantic film "I am your hero" (Main Tera Hero), then several more works followed. And each picture with Varuna became commercially successful, popular. The young artist has his own army of fans (including in Russia), in addition, he performed the role of an inveterate heartthrob.
Varun himself did not want to become a hostage to the image, and he decided to change his image. In the 2015 film Badlapur, the hero of Varuna is a gloomy and harsh young man who has devoted himself to revenge for the murder of his wife and son. In the musical of the same year, “Everyone Loves to Dance 2” (ABCD 2), he discovered a dancer in himself.
The latest work of the actor is the image of a harsh blacksmith in the 2019 drama "Vice" (Kalank). This film was the first failure of Varuna, having failed at the box office. In total, the talented young artist has 12 roles in Bollywood cinema; he is acting today in the lead role of the project "Street Dancer 3D".
