Biography, music career and merit
Valery Shoteyevich Meledze was born on June 23, 1965 in a small village in Georgia. In a family of ordinary engineers. And Valera himself, after graduating from music school, went to work as a telephone operator, but he did not give up his dream of becoming a singer and performing on a large stage. Valera went to get education in Ukraine, at the Nikolaev shipbuilding institute named after S. Makarov. He received a diploma in mechanical engineering in marine power plants in 1989. In 1994 he defended his thesis.
Valery has been making his first professional musical steps since 1989, as part of the Dialog rock band. Solo Valery began to cost a career since 1992, when he was invited to perform in a concert dedicated to the upcoming Winter Olympics in Albertville. After that - at the flower festival "Roksolana" (1993), where he signed a contract with producer Eugene Fridlyand. In the same year, he performed in the "Christmas Meetings" by Alla Pugacheva with the song "Limbo".
Since 1995, Valery began releasing solo albums: "Sulfur", "The Last Romantic" (1996), "Samba of the White Moth" (1998), "Everything was So" (1999), "Nega" (2003). The last album "Contrary" Valery released at the end of 2008. Another VM tribute album for Valery from VM was released by the Velvet Music production center (2015) in honor of the artist’s anniversary.
In the creative biography of the artist, a huge role is played by Valery's brother - Konstantin. He wrote then and still writes songs with which Valery performs and earns the love of the audience throughout the entire period of building a musical career. In 2015, Konstantin and Valery sang the song “My Brother” in a duet. In the same year, the brothers spent their anniversary evening, "Polst."
The singer regularly performs solo concerts in the Olympic Stadium and in the concert hall of the Kremlin Palace, where he collects full halls of admirers of his talent. In 1997, Valery was sent to the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Primadonna", but he fell ill, and instead the author of the song Alla Pugacheva performed. Since 2005, he is regularly invited to the jury at the New Wave contest.
Since 2004, Valery has been captivating his fans with his works on television: Country of Soviets, The Secret to Success, Star Factory, "I Want V VIA Gro" and other programs. The last work of Valery on television was his participation in the project "Voice. Children."
In 2006 he received the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, in 2008 - the People's Artist of the Chechen Republic. Valery is a three-time winner of the Russian National Ovation Award, a multiple winner of the Song of the Year, Golden Gramophone, a seven-time winner of the Muz-TV Award, and a four-time winner of the RU.TV Prize.
Personal life
Valery was married twice. With his first wife, Irina Valery signed in 1989. The family lasted until 2012, until it became known about Valery’s relationship with the lead singer of the VIA Gra band Albina Dzhanabaeva. Officially, Valery's relationship with Albina was formalized in 2014.
Valery is a large father of six children. The very first child died 10 days after birth, in 1990. The second child is the daughter of Inga (1991). The youngest child was born in 2014.
