From the biography of Sergei Ursulyak
The future director was born on June 10, 1958 in Khabarovsk. The family where he was born was the most ordinary. My father served in the army and was constantly forced to change garrisons. Ursulyak's mother was a teacher by education, she worked as a teacher at school.
After the birth of Sergey, the family settled in Magadan. From an early age, the boy loved to read. In particular, he was fascinated by historical novels and adventure literature. Every year on vacation, he went to his grandmother in the suburbs. Therefore, Sergey had the opportunity to visit the theaters and philharmonic societies of Moscow.
Ursulyak admired the actors' play and theatrical productions. Mom told him a lot about popular artists, read modern and classical plays to her son. This was one of the reasons why Sergei chose creativity as his main occupation.
Of particular interest to Sergei was the work of Eldar Ryazanov, who masterfully verified every production moment in his paintings.
