Childhood and youth

Parents completely stopped paying attention to the baby after the birth of their daughter. The upbringing of the boy was taken up by relatives to whom the child was sent. At first, Michel came to Algeria to his mother's parents.
When the future prose writer turned six, he moved to France with his paternal grandmother Henrietta Welbeck. With a relative, the boy’s relationship was excellent.
She had a huge impact on the creativity and personality of the future writer. He made the name of grandmother a literary pseudonym.
From the age of sixteen, the young man became interested in literature and writing. He was especially fascinated by the works of science fiction writer Howard Lovecraft. Two decades later, Welbeck wrote a book about his work.
Literary work

Michelle tried to make a film. After receiving a diploma in ecology in 1978, Welbeck enrolled at the Louis Lumiere School in the cinema department.
After graduation in 1981, Michelle became a father: he had a son Etienne. Family life did not work out. The quarrels with his wife and divorce contributed to the lack of money.
A difficult situation brought the creative personality to a deep depression. As a result, since 1983, Welbeck began working in government agencies as a system administrator.
Confession
In 1991, the first two collections of the author and the book dedicated to Lovecraft were published. Novelties were not outlined by anyone. In 1994, the publisher Maurice Nado published the novel “Expanding the Space of Struggle”. To the complete surprise of critics, he gained popularity.
The work gained particular relevance among young people. Later, people who studied the work of the writer, concluded that Welbeck gave rise to a new direction of authors studying the life of a modern person in an attempt to understand the causes of his spiritual poverty. The first creation of a novelist was screened in 1999 and 2002.
In his 1998 creation, Elementary Particles, Welbeck continued to study the problems of Western civilization. Michelle described her path, starting with the sixties sexual revolution, and came to the conclusion that collapse was approaching.
The popularity of the work was great. The author received the prestigious November Prize. Donnery, the founder of the literary award, outraged by the choice, resigned. A demonstration of anger turned the just-issued “November” into a rare nomination.
The next novel, which received the Interelle Award in the year of release, was published in 2005 with the title "Island Opportunity".
