Childhood
The future star was born in French Lorraine in 1966. Father Joseph was a miner, mother Irmgard was engaged in raising five sons and two daughters. Patricia was the youngest. Until the age of six, children in this family spoke only German - the proximity of the border with Germany affected. The measured life of parents, full of cares for children and for each other, always remained for Patricia Kaas a model of a successful marriage.
Carier start
The girl began to sing early, mostly it was the hits of Mireille Mathieu and Lisa Minelli. The schoolgirl quickly became independent. Speaking as part of a musical group, at the age of 9 she earned her first money. Four years later, the first contract was signed with a famous club. The work of a sixteen-year-old girl in a modeling agency brought decent fees and allowed to support the whole family.
After the fateful meeting of 19-year-old Patricia with the architect Bernard Schwartz, she moved to Paris. The first producer of the aspiring singer was Gerard Depardieu. The actor introduced the girl to the poet Francois Burnheim and helped release the single "Jealous". Failure awaited the song, but Kaas did not give up.
First successes
Her new work with Didier Barbelivien “Mademoiselle sings the blues” in 1987 immediately took 14th position in the French charts and made the singer famous. Soon the self-titled album was released, recognized in France as "platinum". In the world, its circulation amounted to 3 million copies. Patricia Kaas has been awarded the National Discovery of the Year Award.
The path to fame
A year later, the singer began her first tour lasting 16 months. She visited 12 countries and donated her work to hundreds of thousands of spectators.
The result of the singer’s work with CBS Records was in 1990 the album Scènedevie (Picture of Life), called "diamond" after 10 weeks.
1991 brought Kaas the prestigious WorldMusicAwards award. For the title of "Best International Singer" she had to compete with eminent Whitney Houston, Madonna, Cher and Tina Turner.
The 1993 album "Jetedisvous" is called the most successful in the career of the singer. With him she traveled to 19 countries, first visited Asia.
In 1997, the album "Dansmachair" ("In My Flesh") was released, written in collaboration with Jean-Jacques Goldman. The successful collaboration of the French author and singer has been going on for many years.

In 2009, the singer defended the country's honor at the Eurovision Song Contest. The song "Ets'ilfallaitlefaire" brought the performer 8th place. The date of the performance coincided with the 20th anniversary of the death of the mother, on this day it was especially difficult for her to go out to the audience. The teddy bear, once donated by her mother, accompanies Patricia at every performance, like a talisman.
