Biography and career
Tomita was born on January 27, 1966 in the large Japanese city of Okinawa. The actress grew up in the family of Shiro and Asako Tomita. Tomita has Filipino roots on her maternal side. The actress's father was a policeman in Los Angeles. Tamlin was educated at the Granada Hills High School.
At the beginning of her career, Tomita worked in the modeling business. In 1984, she received the beauty queen title at the annual Nisei Week Pageant contest. She later won another title - Miss Nikkei International.
Tomita debuted on the big screen in 1986. She got the role of Kumiko in "Little Karate 2". The actress has more than a hundred roles. In 2001, Tamlin was awarded the title of Asian American International Film Festival Award Winner.
