The famous television journalist and writer was born in 1955 in Moscow, in a family that has a distant relationship with the family of Joseph Stalin. All his ancestors - grandparents, parents, one way or another, were related to politics and history, and the fate of the boy was a foregone conclusion. Already from school, he was prepared for social activities in this area, and they tried to give an appropriate education - a school with in-depth study of English, the faculty of history of Moscow State University.
After graduating from the university, Nikolai refused membership in the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, where he had to join at the urging of the rector. Since 1991, Svanidze became a television journalist, worked for several months as an off-screen commentator on news releases. Since that period, his career has developed rapidly, and after 7 years in his professional piggy bank were:
- several author’s analytical programs,
- membership in the Union of Journalists,
- Chairman of the TV channel (VGTRK),
- Membership in the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
