The family in which the wonderful choreographer was born was a native of Moscow. Father's name was Grigory Petrovich, and mother, Sofia Vladislavovna. She gave her husband Stanislav's son in 1947, on August 4th.
The talented child received a wonderful education, as his parents chose the experimental school No. 315 for Stanislav, which was fostered by the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences.
Just like his elder brother Viktor, Stanislav Grigoryevich in childhood was fond of sports. He was easily given physical activity. Stanislav Popov was a master of sports in pentathlon and won prizes in triathlon competitions. The future dancer got into ballroom dancing in 1962. It was a ballroom dance school in Sokolniki.
The partner not only in dance art, but also in life as a wife, Stanislav Popov, was the beauty Lyudmila Borodina. Their duet took place in the fall of 1968. Young husband and wife registered their marriage in 1974. The first years of joint performances and creativity, the dancers were amateurs, and began to practice ballroom dancing professionally in 1981.

Stanislav Popov chose a purely technical specialty while studying at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute. It was called industrial electronics. However, a love of art prevailed over the chosen technical character of a career. The dancer again entered a higher educational institution, choosing for himself the choreography department of the famous GITIS. Stanislav Popov defended his diploma in 1985.
Career and creativity

They organized a dance studio at the Gorky House of Culture, trained the Soviet Union national ballroom dance team, and trained professionals for international performances.
