Nanotechnology, andron collider, three ji, four ji.. New words become familiar in a very short time. And the question naturally arises: will the "old" technologies survive in this race of inventions?

It is God’s prerogative to accurately foresee the future. People can only make forecasts based on available data. And today they are. According to Gallup Media, in Russia the number of viewers from both federal and other entertainment television channels decreases every year. It is curious that people are still reluctant to leave TV. The loss of television channels per year is about a million people or less. Obviously, the same audience is simultaneously mastering the Internet, because its growth in network resources is many times greater than the loss of television. In just one year, the most popular projects such as Yandex, Vkontakte, Mail.ru can win about five million new visitors. Geometrically, new domain names are registered. By the way: the Internet audience already exceeds the number of viewers by several million.
International resource statistics look even more intimidating. People still have a need to watch something. Otherwise, how to explain the data on the YouTube video hosting, the most popular on the network, - every minute about 40 hours of video are uploaded there. The videos on this resource have 2 billion views per day. And these are figures only for previous years. The fastest growth dynamics in large social projects - Facebook, Twitter, Livejournal, etc.
Russian TV channels are trying to keep up with global trends. Before, all of them could be viewed on a computer using a TV tuner, now for viewing you just need to go online. Private broadcasters are also selected in the global network. The smallest producers of TV content live exclusively on the Internet, putting their programs there.
Against the background of this whole picture, a familiar TV has only one advantage - relative cheapness. Low-income families, as a rule, can afford to have a TV with a minimum of federal channels. You will have to pay regularly for accessing the Internet. And the necessary equipment still costs several times more than a TV, if you take modern and new, not used, models. But here, there is a tendency to reduce prices both for access to the network and for all equipment, and the availability of the Internet is growing along with its users.
Another trend is the emergence of universal devices. Computer, phone, graphics tablet, camera - all of their functions are now combined into one. While the price of such devices is not too affordable for the middle class with a low salary. But technology is developing very fast, and are getting cheaper just as quickly. A person spends more and more time on the Internet, getting there all the necessary information for work and entertainment. Therefore, it is possible that already in the foreseeable future, Russian rooms will become more spacious, because they will not have a TV.
