The Chronicles of Narnia by Clive Lewis
The Clive Stapleton Lewis fantasy-fairy cycle, created in the 1950s, consists of seven books. Moreover, they were not written in chronological order.
The first book to be published was “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, ” which tells of the adventures of four children from the Pevensi family who fell into the magical world of Narnia. It was followed by "Prince Caspian" and "Vanquisher of the Dawn, or swimming to the ends of the world" - a continuation of the adventures of the same heroes. In the next story, “Silver Chair”, the main characters are already the cousin of children Pavensi Eustace and his girlfriend Jill. “The Horse and His Boy” is essentially a spin-off to the rest of the cycle and the only book in which the main characters are natives of the world of Narnia. The book “The Sorcerer's Nephew” follows, telling about the background of all the other stories. In The Last Battle, the world of Narnia ends. At the same time, the children of Pevensi (except Susan), Jill, Eustace, as well as the heroes of the "Niece of the Sorcerer" die in the ordinary world. They all fall into the "true Narnia" - an analogue of Christian paradise.
At its core, the Chronicles of Narnia is a very religious cycle.
Lewis set himself the task of putting the basic principles of Christianity in an allegorical form, not only accessible, but also fascinating for children. The result is a truly talented saga, which remains a classic of children's fantasy to this day.
