Biography
On April 27, 1991, a future football player was born in Moscow. The boy grew up in a sports family and he felt a craving for competition. Mom George was fond of athletics, and dad was involved in walking. George himself loved to chase the ball and his father decided to take him to the football academy, the choice fell on one of the best schools in the country: the CSKA academy.
The mentor of the youth team was Nikolai Konovalov, he quickly discerned the talents of a promising youth and managed to reveal them. A year later, Shchennikov was able to boast of his first trophy: the team won the youth tournament, which was held in Astrakhan.
Career
Shchennikov quickly progressed, and already in 2007 he was transferred to the second adult team. Nevertheless, the athlete continued to play for the youth team. In the summer of 2008, he first entered the field as part of the club’s main team. It happened in a cup match against Vladimir “Torpedo”. In total, in the debut season at the professional level, the player entered the field four times.
Starting next season, George was able to gain a foothold in the first team and began to regularly appear on the field. To date, the player has played 289 matches for the club and even scored 6 goals. Given that he takes the position of a defender on the field, this is a very, very good result.
Since 2012, George began to be involved in games in the national team of Russia. In 2014, the player was included in the application of the national team, but he did not enter the field at the World Cup. At the European Championships 2016, he also went with the national team to France. In a key group meeting against the team from foggy Albion, the famous football player entered the field from the first minutes and managed to distinguish himself with an assisted pass. The meeting ended in a draw 1-1.
Over his short career, George Schennikov has already acquired a good baggage of trophies. As part of the CSKA club, he three times became the champion of the country, three times won the Russian Cup and four times the Super Bowl. And in 2009, Schennikov was recognized as the best young player in Russia.
