Childhood and youth
Sergei Vladimirovich Mazaev was born on December 7, 1959 in Moscow. Since childhood, little Seryozha loved the music so much that he could sit at home and play music for hours, while his friends played football on the street. However, the boy’s family was not at all against the peculiar retreat of his son, and at the age of 11 he began to master playing the saxophone and clarinet, simultaneously doing vocals. All this was against the backdrop of studying at a simple physical and mathematical school. After graduating from school, Mazaev became a student at the Musical College. Ippolitov-Ivanov (now - GMPI), where he continued to improve in playing the clarinet. After college, Sergei entered the famous Gnesinka, where, in addition to saxophone and clarinet, he mastered playing the trombone and forge.
After graduating, Sergei had to say goodbye to civilian life for some time and go to serve in the army. In the military unit where Mazaev served, they learned about the recruit’s love for music and transferred him to a music company. Since then, his service, to the envy of many, was only a joy. As part of a military orchestra, the young man performed three times in the main square of Moscow.
At some point in his life there was so much music that the young man simply “burned out”. Returning from the army, he decided to enter the economics department of one of the country's most prestigious universities - Moscow State University. Soon, old dreams returned to Sergey, and he, without a doubt, abandons his studies and goes headlong into music.
Career in art
1979 was marked by the fact that the legendary Soviet film “The meeting place cannot be changed” was released, in which Mazaev got the episodic role of a musician in a restaurant.
In 1983, Mazaev began work at VIA "Hello, Song", from which he left two years later. In 1986, Sergei became a member of the then-popular rock band Autograph, with whom he recorded 2 albums. Three years later, the musician leaves the group.
After long wanderings and searches of himself, the man becomes an integral part of the "Code of Ethics". The name for the group was invented personally by Sergey. Before his arrival, it was called the "Diamond Arm".
In 1991, the debut LP of the Code of Morals, entitled Concussion, was released. The album brings tremendous success to the guys, and the team begins touring activities not only in Russia but also abroad. Moreover, the musicians recorded several songs in English.
The discography of the group has 6 albums and 1 collection with previously published compositions.
In addition, Sergey Vladimirovich starred in a dozen television and film projects, and also wrote music for several films and TV shows.
