Biography
The future athlete was born in July 1955 on the seventh in Moscow. Sergey's parents worked at the factory. Hereditary workers, they did not even think about the fact that their son would someday become a professional highly paid athlete.
And from an early age Seryozha dreamed of becoming a football player and someday playing for the great and invincible team of the Soviet Union. In the mid-fifties, football schools for youth began to appear throughout the country, one of which was in Moscow. Parents took their son to this school, and from this began a long career path Petrenko in football.
Professional career
In FSM, Sergey first appeared at the age of ten. A talented young man was able to impress the school leadership and attracted the attention of several club coaches. Speaking regularly for the Moscow branch of the school, Petrenko rapidly increased his results and his own value, and by the age of 17 he became the target of several Moscow grandees. Having decided on the choice, Petrenko moved to the “Torpedo”.
The entire playing career of an outstanding athlete was held in one club, few football players can boast of such an achievement. Over the long thirteen years, he appeared on the field 276 times in the colors of “Torpedo” and became one of the team’s record holders. He scored twenty-three goals and became the champion of the USSR.
Coaching
Petrenko ended his playing career unusually early, at the age of only thirty years. Then he decided to engage in coaching. There were no problems with the place of work, almost immediately he received an offer from the school in which he once started playing football. Sergei Anatolyevich coached very young boys during the period of perestroika and until the collapse of the Soviet Union.
In 1992, he was invited to work at Torpedo, where he worked until 2006. During this time, he resigned several times, he was assigned to work in farm clubs, but somehow he was in the Torpedo football club system. In 2006, he went to Latvia, where he worked only a year and returned to Russia. He spent two years in Nizhny Novgorod, where he studied with the local team of the Volga third division. In 2011, he spent part of the season in Kazakhstan's Tobol.
The last place of work for Petrenko was the Siberian football club "Yenisei" in which he also spent one season from 2013 to 2014.
