The future talented actor was born in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, on July 25, 1950. The boy was brought up in an atmosphere of love and parental care. Rustam's father was a party leader, but did not differ in severity in relation to children. The main concern for the upbringing of the children was taken by the mother. Sometimes she had to apply very severe measures to them.
During his school years, artistic Rustam attended a drama circle at the Pioneer House. One of the boy’s idols was the well-known Soviet audience G. Millar, whom the young actor tried to imitate in everything. More than once, Rustam portrayed fairy-tale heroes in the style of George Millar at the matinees.
Sagdullaev first appeared on the screen at the age of thirteen: it was the role of Alimjan in the film "tightrope walkers". While working on that project, the boy carefully observed how his older comrades create film images; many of them were stars of the national Uzbek cinema.
