Biography
Roman Sergeyevich Zobnin was born in Irkutsk in 1994. Already at the age of six, the boy began to get involved in football, and this sport became a real passion for him. Four years later, it was decided to send him to Tolyatti, where the young athlete entered the famous football academy named after Yuri Konoplev. He lived in a hostel with other boys and trained hard, overcoming all adversities.
In 2012, Zobnin auditioned for the Dynamo Moscow team. He was accepted, although not the first time, having signed a two-year contract with the athlete. So Roman became a professional footballer who proved that he deserves a place in the main team of the famous club. Already in the first matches he demonstrated such a strong game that he was nicknamed the “hope” of Dynamo and one of the most promising newcomers to national football.
The year 2015 was marked for Roman Zobnin by participation in the Europa League, but he did not last long on the field, having received a deletion after two yellow cards. In the same year, he joined the Russian national football team. Came to an end and his contract with Dynamo, which marked the beginning of the struggle of eminent clubs for a talented player.
Career
Roman Zobnin continued his professional football career at the Spartak club, signing a contract with him until 2020. Almost immediately, he became one of the team’s playmakers, marking several goals against opponents. Zobnin also actively trained as part of the Russian national team, having acquired the status of one of the applicants for an exit in the first team in the upcoming 2018 World Cup.
In 2017, Roman suffered a serious knee injury during a friendly match between the national teams of Russia and Hungary. For many months, the football player completely dropped out of sports life, and his further career was in great question. Only a few serious operations and the persistence of Zobnin, with whom he underwent rehabilitation training, allowed him to return to the field again.
On June 14, 2018, Roman Zobnin played in the first match of the Mundial in Moscow, in which the teams of Russia and Saudi Arabia met. He also took part in each of the next four meetings of his team in the championship. The football player did not score goals, but showed a very active and accurate game as a defensive midfielder, “saturating” other players with assists.
