Robert Brown Biography
Bobby was born into a Boston family, Massachusetts, on February 5, 1969. Brown's mother, Elizabeth Carol, worked as a teacher, father James Herbert - a builder. The couple were the parents of six children.
At the age of eleven, Robert rethought his life - his friend and "accomplice" of one of the criminal gangs in which he was a member died from stab wounds. Bobby began to devote more time to his education and reach for the realization of an early childhood dream - to become like his beloved idol James Brown.
Career and work of Robert Brown
The beginning of Bobby's musical career was marked by his participation with childhood friend Michael Beavins in the "New Edition" boy band. Robert turned out to be the youngest and hottest member of the creative team, which conquered fans with songs in the style of R&B.
In 1986, members of the group cast the 17-year-old Brown from the New Edition by common vote for indecent stage performance that could threaten the band's reputation. Bobby tore off the solo parts of another member of the group - Ralph Tresvant and constantly clashed with him. Despite the discord inside the "New Edition", the team during this time managed to become famous thanks to their hits, published together with Brown:
- "Mr. Telephone Man",
- "Cool It Now",
- "Candy Girl".
After being expelled from the group, Bobby recorded several solo discs. The "Girfriend" song from the 1986 album "King of Stage" became the lead in the Billboard RnB-style charts. The second album, “Don't Be Cruel, ” released two years later, went platinum 8 times and made Brown truly famous.

In 1989, they shot the film Ghostbusters 2, for which Robert prepared the single “On Our Own”. He got a small role in this picture. Publishers have released several albums with remixes of Bobby's songs to consolidate his success. In 1992, Brown released his third disc, which was not noticed by his fans. The 1997 Forever album also did not bring Robert to the top of the list and did not make a significant contribution to his work.
New Edition members rejoined Bobby to create the Home Again joint disc in 1996. Brown could not justify their trust and again began to disrupt the performances. In an interview, the singer honestly spoke about his problem: during the tour with the members of the "New Edition" group he was under the influence of drugs.
In 2005, 2006, and 2008, New Edition again invited Robert Brown to collaborate on joint performances and new releases.
