The feminist movement is gaining strength in all civilized countries. In the Russian Federation, the struggle for the equal rights of women and men has entered a latent phase. Natalia Pushkareva defends women's freedom and rights to choose their place in society, using scientific methods of analysis.
Starting conditions
A convinced defender of women's rights "to self-determination" Natalya Lvovna Pushkareva was born on September 23, 1959 in a family of researchers. Father and mother were engaged in history. Moreover, both had a doctorate in historical sciences. Natasha grew and developed in an intellectual environment. Eat right. From young nails, the girl watched how couples live, what kind of suffering women have to endure because of the despotism of representatives of a strong part of humanity.
In school years, the child behaved quite adequately. Natasha did not quarrel with the boys and did not enter into fights. I did not try to find a common language with them. Just shunned and tried to keep contacts to a minimum. Relations with the girls developed normally. Pushkareva participated in the public life of the class. When it came time to choose a profession, the girl decided to follow in the footsteps of her parents and entered the history department of the famous Moscow State University.
Women's History Associations
After graduating, Natalia Pushkareva entered graduate school of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology. It is important to note that until the mid-80s, gender studies in the Soviet Union were not systematically engaged. At the upper echelons of power, it was believed that men and women had long had equal civil rights, and therefore there was simply no subject for research. However, in her Ph.D. thesis, Pushkareva adhered to a different point of view. She adhered and, as she could, justified her position.
Natalya Lvovna considers the creation of a school of historical feminology to be her main achievement. Some skeptics point out that the first feminists known to science were mythical Amazons. Lunges of a similar property are considered common in scientific discussions. Such comments do not affect a successful career. As part of creating a new direction in science, Pushkareva wrote more than four hundred scientific articles. Moreover, she initiated the creation of the Association of Women History Researchers.
