The famous lunar race ended in victory for the United States - American astronaut Neil Armstrong descended to the surface of the moon in July 1969, the Soviet Union had to accept defeat. The United States could begin a full-scale study and development of the Earth’s satellite, but flights were somehow stopped.

The victory in the lunar race was not easy for the United States - tens of billions of dollars were spent, three astronauts died in preparation for the flights. And when, finally, the goal was achieved, and the flight technology was fully developed, the program of flights to the moon was suddenly turned off. This was not only unexpected, but also economically impractical. At a minimum, another flight could take place, for which everything had already been prepared.
The fact that flights to the moon were so abruptly stopped gave rise to many rumors and speculation. One of the most interesting versions is related to the information that the Americans, having flown to the moon, discovered that it was already occupied. By whom? Creatures other than the human race. Simply put, aliens. At first, they watched with interest the attempts of earthlings to land on the moon, but when American activity became too high, they were asked to leave the moon and not return to it.
If that was so, then why did the US leaders so meekly agree to this? The answer is simple - the level of technological development of aliens is so much higher than the Earth that it was pointless to fight them. That is why the Americans hastily curtailed the lunar program and never returned to this topic. The Soviet cosmonauts did not begin to land on the Moon, although the technical capabilities of the created N-1 rocket made it possible to fly to the Moon. Yes, the USSR lost to the Americans in the battle for the moon, but even landing second would still be very prestigious. However, the Soviet lunar program was also curtailed.
Of course, to believe in the version that the Americans met aliens on the moon is not easy. But no matter how fantastic she looked, there is quite a lot of evidence in her favor. These are photographs from the lunar surface, which show incomprehensible luminous balls, and strange astronaut talks with NASA, intercepted by radio amateurs. Finally, astronomers have repeatedly recorded in telescopes the facts of the movement of large objects above the lunar surface. Many of them appear from lunar craters and disappear in them. There is so much evidence of this that the talk of aliens forbidding earthlings from stepping on the lunar surface no longer seems so incredible.
The official versions of the cessation of flights to the moon are very simple. In the USA, they said that the goal was achieved, the Americans visited the Earth’s natural satellite several times and there was no point in continuing the program. The leadership of the USSR announced that flights to the moon are fraught with great risk, therefore, in the Soviet Union, priority will be given to the exploration of the moon by unmanned aerial vehicles.
It is worth noting that in recent years a number of countries, including Russia, have declared their readiness for the exploration of the moon. So the lunar epic, begun in the seventies of the last century, has every chance of being continued in the coming years.
