Lil Wayne has never been a role model. Insolent, rude, not listening to anyone's advice, he continued to create his own music. His songs have repeatedly occupied the first lines in the American and European charts. The artist went against all the rules of the musical world, as well as the social one. However, not everything got away with it. Once again, the scandal arose due to rash rash words.
In an interview that Lil Wayne gave to the MTV music channel, the musician noted that he did not like New York, without offending either the city or its residents. However, offended fans of Wayne, who live in the metropolis, still express their dissatisfaction with his preferences. New York is considered the cradle of the rapper movement, millions of residents prefer to listen to this music, while the representative of rap culture allows himself to make such statements. The state senator, travel agencies and members of the youth hip-hop council considered themselves offended.
Lil Wayne has his own reasons for not liking New York. In July 2007, he was arrested after a concert in this city. Police noticed a famous rapper smoking marijuana next to his tour bus. Later, during a search of Wayne, a firearm was found registered with the executor’s manager. In the spring of 2010, Lil Wayne was sentenced to a year in prison by decision of a judge. The rapper was serving his sentence in a New York prison, where he came out after 8 months. Therefore, the musician’s associations with New York are not the most rosy.
Obviously, America’s most productive rapper now has to apologize for his dislike of New York. If Lil Wayne publicly apologizes to the New Yorkers, the conflict is likely to be resolved. It’s just not yet known whether the eccentric musician will take this step.
