In recent months, the rally of the three girls participating in the Pussi Riot group made a real sensation in the country and actually split the society into two parts - those who protect the girls and see gross violations during their court case and those who wish the group members to be severely punished. One of the most popular Russian pop singers, Elena Vaenga, also expressed her opinion on this matter, and made it so that for a couple of days it became incredibly discussed on Twitter and social networks.

Almost no one was left indifferent by the Pussi Riot affair. A huge part of Orthodox people severely condemned the hooligan behavior of girls who, in their opinion, had abused faith and church principles. However, the matter caused a public outcry around the world, and the girls received support from the heads of many states and foreign pop stars such as Denny de Vito, Madonna, Sting and many others. Of course, Russian cultural figures did not stand aside.
On August 2, Elena Vaenga decided to express her opinion on the situation around the girls on the forum of her site. Her message was expressive not only in content, but also in form - fully typed in capital letters and contained a huge number of spelling, speech and punctuation errors. In particular, she was interested in why the girls from Pussi Riot did not go “to the jackpot, ” in addition, she informed everyone that she was “not Jesus Christ” and “forgive everyone and everything cannot.” Speaking rudely about the accused, the singer called them “trash” and “goats, ” and she added a large number of exclamation points, apparently trying to convey her emotions as vividly as possible. One of the first to post a screenshot on Twitter was Ksenia Sobchak. Within a few hours, the tags # ElenaVaenga, #Vaenga and #Machet were included in the list of the most popular in the Russian-language Twitter segment.
Interestingly, Elena later apologized for the mistake in the word "mosque", but she brought them to the "Muslim brothers." Screenshots of the singer’s posts instantly scattered across the Internet, glorifying the singer in a not very pleasant light. Moreover, the majority of the dissatisfied spoke precisely about Elena’s inability to express her thoughts competently, rather than about her attitude to Pussi Riot's trick.
However, there were those who ardently supported Elena’s position - for example, the famous comedian Mikhail Zadornov on his VKontakte page said that he was delighted with the courage of this woman and would now like to meet her in person.
Be that as it may, the erroneous spelling of the word "machet" will now be associated for many with the name of the popular singer.
